Per recent claims from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning the convict is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recently, it was reported that she told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
