Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents his initial title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving approach and frequent reactions on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
