Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges usual expectations, the game developer has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous transformations echo through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
